Seed Sowing Guide
Fill up the seedling pot with seedling soil, poke a hole into the soil with a finger, put one seed into the hole and cover it with a thin layer of soil.
Place the seedling pots under the shade and water once a day in the morning. The seeds will germinate within 7-10 days. After that, move the seedling pots to a location that receives sunlight but not direct sunlight.
After one month, when the length of the seedling reaches 20-25cm, prepare to transplant the seedlings into a planting pot with a depth of 40cm or more, keeping a 20cm distance between plants.
Asparagus grows fast after transplanting, keep the soil ventilated, apply Mr Ganick 532 Organic Leafy Fertiliser weekly for bigger and healthier leaves. Apply the fertiliser between two plants, cover with soil, and water after fertilisation.
For the first year after transplant, there will not be a harvest
Asparagus will start to sprout in the following year, but do not harvest until 5 branches of asparagus have grown. Then you may harvest asparagus. Apply Baba Compost-based Fertilizer to increase the fertility of the soil every time after harvesting.
Starting from the third year, it is the high-yield period for asparagus plants. During this period, you may harvest when there are three asparagus branches. The high-yield period can last for 8 to 12 years.
Growing Tips:
Use Ø8.5cm planting pots to grow seedlings.
The soil should not be too wet all the time. Trim branches and leaves regularly for maintenance. No stand support is needed.
You may apply Mr Ganick Dr Neem oil in the evening after watering to repel insects, twice a week.
Asparagus is a perennial crop suitable for long-term harvest.
